Behind the shadow screen at Taiyuan Puppet Theatre Company's Lin Liu-Hsin Puppet Theatre Museum in Taipei, Taiwan. I met the lead puppet maker and some of the other artists there, who gave me a book and DVD based on a Shadow Theatre play they did, Shadow of Love.
Here I am playing with a Vietnamese water puppet. It's a wood carved puppet controlled by a Bamboo with string and simple levers. The museum's collection was quite extensive. Below are a couple snapshots from the signs in the exhibit on ugly puppets. I was struck by the Drama Therapy sounding descriptions.
