Seminar on Forum Theatre

I gave this Seminar on Forum Theatre as a part of Yours Truely Theatre's "Vox Pouli", a month of Forum Theatre in honor of World Theatre Day. My 1.5 hour seminar became 3 hours as the audience was so full enthusiasm and questions. I guess that's what happens when you get me going on one of my favorite topics.

High on Hyderabad

I'm convinced that Forum Theatre just works better in an intimate space with a smaller audience (60 or less). Well Shadow Liberation's performance at Truffles Cafe in Hyderabad was intimate and the dialogue was rich, reinforcing my theory. Read the digital version of the article in the Deccan Chronicle.

In addition to our performance we spent a few days workshopping with Chindu: Dalit Resource Center, drumming for dignity and sharing shadow stories.

Shadow Liberation in Auroville

We performed for an international audience in the beautiful Sri Aurobindo Auditorium in Auroville. The floor to ceiling shadow screen allowed us to go huge with the shadows.

In the picture above I'm jokering an audience intervention. Though this audience didn't make a lot of interventions there were a few passionate spect-actors that made it all come full circle.

While we were in Auroville we had a chance to talk with Auroville Radio. Listen to the interview here.
