Flowering Tree, a folk tale of Karnataka by A.K. Ramanujan, came to life with in a theatrical adaptation by 8th grade students from Mallya Aditi International School. I had the honor of spending a few sessions with the youth helping them connect there lives with the lives of the characters to devise original scens for the production. In the end I ran sound, as shadow puppets and LED infused costumes dazzled an audience equally in awe of the parallels between contemporary teen life and the old folk story. Read the Review in The Hindu, and check out the Project Vision team who made it all happen.
